Lost 19th Century Franklin Expedition Ship Found

The Prime Minister's Office says one of the lost ships from Sir John Franklin's doomed Arctic expedition has been found. Harper says it's not known yet whether the ship is HMS Erebus or HMS Terror.

The news comes a day after a team of archeologists from Nunavut found an iron fitting from a Royal Navy Ship. Many ships searched through the Arctic area for signs of the lost ship, including the Pierre Radisson.

The two ships of the Franklin Expedition disappeared during an 1845 quest for the Northwest Passage. They were the subject of many searches throughout the 19th century, but the mystery of what happened to John Franklin and his men has never been solved.
