Cambridge, ON- December 15, 2010- exactEarth presented to over 150 delegates at the International Maritime Organization's Maritime Safety Committee meeting in London, England on November 27, 2010 as part of the International Association of Marine Electronics Companies(CIRM) delegation. The address was to highlight the potential role of Satellite AIS (S-AIS) for improved safety of shipping. Peter Mabson, exactEarth's President, introduced the now-available exactAIS™ service and highlighted some of the key applications.

AIS transponders are currently installed on over 65,000 vessels allowing for the use of S-AIS without requiring any hardware upgrades or new installations. The greatest advantage of S-AIS is its ability to monitor vessels globally with a rapid update rate. S-AIS has a great number of applications including enhanced ship reporting, surveillance and security, environmental and resource protection and vessel monitoring.

S-AIS has strong international backing with over $300 million committed into its deployment worldwide. exactEarth has already signed up customers around the world and is currently running trials of the exactAIS™ service for many Governments worldwide as interest in S-AIS continues to grow. The system is proving to be extremely robust and when compared to other systems, exactAIS™ is providing the highest detection rates available on the market.
